Merry Christmas! For this Monday Minute I want to introduce you to Aswath Damodaran, a finance professor at NYU. He has a great website containing much of his research, a blog, and an amazing youtube channel, which contains probably over 200 videos on finance and investing.
If one of your New Year’s resolutions includes becoming more knowledgeable about investing, then while I hope you will keep reading my blog, you should make Professor Damodaran’s youtube channel your second home. Although many of the videos are over an hour long, Professor Damodaran still manages to keep the videos somewhat lively and entertaining given that he is discussing finance and investing in great detail. The videos on his youtube channel are not in order and bounce around quite a bit, but if you click through his website, first on the “teaching” tab, then “online classes”, you can find three separate courses: Corporate Finance, Valuation and Investment Philosophies. I have watched the videos on Valuation and I plan on going through the Investment Philosophies videos over time as one of my New Year’s resolutions, which is where I would recommend most people start with his website.
I cannot do Professor Damodaran justice in a few hours of writing, must less a one-minute read, but I highly encourage anyone wanting to rapidly expand their knowledge of investing or corporate finance to watch his videos and read his blog.
